Dear reader,
The past 4 months have been obsessively productive and I’m still processing work from the very late stretch of fall. I keep failing to articulate my thoughts on the series but this channel is meant to be mostly visual, I just gotta hit “send” and get back to editing.
These are some of my favorite moments of the season – let’s talk movies down below.
If you love movies, we should talk more often. I’m not ready to use Letterboxd as a public social media platform, but I highly encourage friends to keep a movie diary and maintain a watchlist, which Letterboxd is great for.
Lately I’ve been catching up on the incredible wave of 2023 films. Some recent highlights: Fallen Leaves, The Holdovers, Poor Things, Killers of the Flower Moon, The Boy and the Heron – all the obvious hit movies and some not-so-great movies in between. Everyone should basically see every other movie that’s coming out these days, especially if you can get to an independent theater.
What are you seeing this week? Which movie felt the most overrated to you last year?
Sincerely,
PM
I've been in love with Fremont (late 2023) and All of Us Strangers (2024)! I'm not sure if you've seen Aftersun (2022), but All of Us Strangers is just as magical as that film was for me.
Also: I'm really happy I found your Substack. I've been following your photography for several years now! Hope all is good. :) Happy New Year!
One of my favorite photo sets of yours to date, PM!
