Happy September,
I’ve been looking forward to sharing this post :) and a few others that I need to make time to finish.
My favorite part about the Substack format is seeing your replies hit my inbox, so let me know: what’s exciting in your world this month? What are you cooking?
August/September have been busy here. I took on a handful of freelance projects that were wrapping up around the same time as the 10th annual Otis Mountain Get Down, perfect chance to go camping and photograph live music. If you’re not familiar, Otis is a music festival that takes place in the Adirondack Mountains, and I was happy to be invited back to capture the scene again.
It’s hard to describe what makes this festival so special but I’m told that tickets sell out before the lineup is even announced. Not only does this mean you’re bound to discover your new favorite bands at Otis, but the attending community has a lot of trust in the programmers and event runners, I totally see why.
Editing soundtrack for this collection was a handful of the bands featured in the photos: Evangeline, PIERI, Mei Semones – all new discoveries, just in time for fall. Now I’m moving on to processing some landscape work (will share soon) and I’m diving deep into the Ginger Root discography – thanks to Tavis for the rec.
What’s on your September soundtrack?
